So there’s this major company called Wipro, right? And let me tell you, they’re going all-in on artificial intelligence (AI). They’re not messing around. In the next six months, they’re gonna embed AI into every single solution and offering they have. They’re calling it AI-first. They wanna make sure that every practice, every service line, is all about that AI life.
And you know what? Wipro is seeing some real success with AI-led deals. They just signed some big contracts worth $1.3 billion. That’s the highest they’ve seen in nine quarters, my friends. Now, they didn’t mention exactly how many of these deals are driven by AI, but their CEO, Thierry Delaporte, says that they’ve noticed a double increase in the number of AI-led deals compared to the previous quarter. It may still be modest in volume, but let me tell you, the speed at which they’re progressing is damn impressive.
They’re finding that AI is really taking off in sectors like healthcare, consumer, and financial services. And you know who’s right behind them? The hi-tech and utilities sectors. They’re following closely in Wipro’s AI footsteps.
And get this, Wipro is putting their money where their mouth is. They committed to investing a cool $1 billion in advancing their AI capabilities over the next three years. They even launched this thing called Wipro ai360, an AI-first innovation ecosystem. The goal? Integrate AI into every single platform, tool, and solution used both internally and offered to clients. And that’s not all, they partnered up with IIT-Delhi to create a center of excellence on generative AI. They’re doing some serious R&D magic there, using AI, machine learning, and other fancy technologies.
Now, these AI priorities are coming straight from the top. The CEO himself chairs an AI council every week with about 10-12 members of the leadership team. They’re investing a bunch of time, effort, and money into making sure Wipro becomes an AI-powered organization, quarter after quarter. This is no joke, folks.
And they’re not just leaving their employees in the dark. Wipro wants to make sure every single one of them understands and can use AI to improve productivity. They’re on a mission to train 100% of their employees in AI. And guess what? They’ve already trained a whopping 180,000 people in basic generative AI principles in just three months. Can you believe that? They’re building an AI army with about 55,000 AI practitioners across the company.
But it doesn’t stop there. Wipro is also taking an AI-led approach to help their clients. They’ve got a consulting team that’s developed some serious sector-specific offerings to assist clients in developing their own AI strategy. These Wipro peeps are going out there every day, showing clients the way and helping them navigate through all the AI hype and reality. They’re the real AI guides, my friends.
And here’s the kicker, Wipro is not just talking the AI talk, they’re walking the walk. They’ve launched various AI programs within their own organization. They wanna be their own guinea pigs, you know what I mean? From the finance team to the HR team, the marketing team, the sales team, and even the legal team, everyone is jumping on the AI bandwagon. They’re making some serious improvements too. For example, the employees’ background check used to take weeks, but now Wipro has reduced it to just a day. That’s some serious efficiency right there.
So, yeah, Wipro is going all-in on AI. They’re embedding it in everything they do, signing big AI-led deals, training their employees, and helping their clients navigate the AI maze. They’re the real deal, my friends. And mark my words, we’re gonna hear a lot more about Wipro and their AI wizardry in the future. Stay tuned for that.
