So check it out, folks. In the Chennai Metropolitan Area, they’re coming up with some badass solutions to deal with maintenance in the sewer lines and storm-water drains. And get this, they’re using robotics and artificial intelligence to do it, man! No more risking the lives of workers who have to clean that shit up manually.
The big shots from the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department are getting together with experts in robotics and AI to figure out how to maintain septic tanks, sewer lines, and storm-water drains. They’re aiming to prevent water contamination and reduce water losses, which, let’s be honest, is a huge freaking deal.
Apparently, water contamination is a major issue in all 200 wards, according to the councillors of the Greater Chennai Corporation. But once the State government gives the green light, these guys are ready to implement some cutting-edge technology to tackle this problem head-on.
This AIADMK councillor, J. John, from Ward 84 in the Ambattur zone, spilled the beans about the contamination of drinking water in the Tamil Nadu Housing Board apartment in Korattur. Man, imagine bathing in that shit and getting all these nasty skin diseases. Not cool, man, not cool. The residents are fed up and they’re raising hell about it. Can’t blame ’em!
One resident, Prasanna Kumar, was pissed off because the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board has been supplying water mixed with sewage for the past six freaking months in his area. And guess what? Fever cases are on the rise, especially among the kids and old folks. This is straight-up criminal, man. We can’t let ’em keep supplying contaminated water like that.
K. Balakrishnan from CITU had some eye-opening insight too. He mentioned that they get at least 25 complaints from each ward every goddamn day. That’s a shitton of complaints, man! Like, what the hell is going on? They tried using jet rodding machines and super suckers, but apparently, it’s not enough. More than half of the work still has to be done manually by the workers. And here’s the kicker, nobody’s doing anything to prevent deaths or compensate these workers. That’s some messed up shit, man.
